About Paul Hughey

The summer of 2014 my Great Uncle Bill Moser, a well known artist starting teaching me to paint with acrylics.  My dad sent him a picture he took at El Morro National Monument (which is my dad's favorite place) as a requested painting.  One Sunday afternoon I showed up and there was a blank 30" X 40" canvas set up and Uncle Bill told me I was going to do the painting for my dad.  My immediate reaction was that he was out of his mind!  Uncle Bill was patient with me and taught me so many lessons along the journey to complete it.  I finished it just in time to send it to my dad for his 70th birthday.  What a blessing it was to spend time with the Moser family that I never knew until a few years prior while I was living in the Washington D.C. area.  There were times I doubted I could finish it but after watching my dad ride his motorcycle over 2,000 miles in the Ride for the Wall that summer at his age inspired me to stick with it.  I would like to thank by mom and dad for always being an inspiration to me and thank you Uncle Bill for believing in my talent.
